Someone says, "Wow, isn't the ocean view just breath taking?"
and you think to yourself, "yes, but it's more than that..."
A friend takes a moment to call you to let you know they are thinking of you...
you think it's a nice gesture, but you know..."it's more than that"
Two people say "I Do" in front of a crowd of whitnesses....
it's a beautiful moment, but, once again...
"it's more than that"
* The ocean in and of it self is glorious, "but it's more than that" :
The CREATOR of that breath taking view is the one who thoughtfully formed YOU.
have we forgotten?
Jer 31:3 (NIV)..."I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness."
* A friend who calls out of the blue to say; "i'm thinking of you". Have we forgotten that time is a valuable thing and someone who chooses to share their time with you is not only "thinking" of you, they are choosing to sacrifice for you.
John 15:13 NIV
Greater Love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
* When the choice is made to love one another for all eternity "till death do us part", when two people choose to commit to each other before God and their friends, it's a beautiful thing, right?
...but it's so much more than that!
Nothing on this earth can truly demonstrate the kind of love, commitment and bond that Jesus Christ has for His church/His bride...US!!!
May we recognize His love, may we honor that commitment (whether single or married), let's choose to step outside of ourselves for a moment and remember that we are Christ's BRIDE and He is daily wooing us with His promises and His unending love!
Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready. (Rev. 19:7)
Question:
Are you willing to open your spiritual eyes and see that there is more than ourselves? Are you ready to open your heart to the greatness of God's forever Love?
Lord, I pray that our hearts are open to your truth, for it says in your Holy Word
"and you will know the TRUTH and the TRUTH will set you free!" -John 8:32
